Once on the 'Three Most Wanted List' of the British Army and the RUC alongside close friend and fellow IRA Volunteer Francis Hughes, Ian Milne is now chairperson of Magherafelt District Council, one of an eight-strong team of Sinn Féin councillors on the County Derry local authority. It is clear that he has lost none of the vigour and vitality that saw him through the fields of South Derry with Francis Hughes and the H-Blocks to continue the struggle on a new stage. The former blanketman looks to new generations of republicans to do likewise.
